My friend reported to me that there are little bullies in Dun Laoghaire so I went for a trip to see with my own eyes what is going on and capture everything with my camera. It was lovely sunny day and I had the perfect light for taking pictures.
Do you wonder how a bird could possibly be a bully? Well, I heard that there is nice place to sit and have a lunch or coffee outside the cafe Insomnia in Dun Laoghaire. When you start enjoying your lunch the little bullies will appear. If you leave a bread or piece of some pastry on your table, it will get stolen right in front of you by little birds. Yeah, I heard this story from my friend and when he called me during his lunch break he always mentioned that the birds were bullying him. I love birds and I have been dreaming about taking pictures of them for long time. First I thought that my friend was just trying to get me out on a lunch by telling me some funny story, but I could not resist and I had to go and see the birds.
It is truly amazing place for taking pictures of birds. There are not many people walking that would interfere with your shooting and when you drop few crumbs of bread many birds will come very near to you.
I set a trap on a chair near me, little piece of bread. It didn’t take long time and I captured this beautiful bird taking the bread.
I like the background, especially how the chairs create triangles and different geometrical shapes. It was very enjoyable to play with the composition when I cropped the photographs. Which one do you like the most?
To capture flying birds with just basic lenses it’s a little challenge for me, but I got first few nice shots:
It was amazing little photoshoot with birds and very nice lunch and chat with my friend.

A great read and brings back memories when I lived in Dublin and had day trips to Dun Laoghaire.
Maybe for another idea for a blog would be capturing any photos of the birds down by the boats? I do miss the sea (living so far away now from it) and it’s lovely in Dun Laoghaire down by the light house 🙂

Thank you 🙂 I actually went down to the boats and walked around the sea a bit with my other friend from Dun Laoghaire at the very same day. I have some nice shots of a bird taking a bath near the shore. I wish I had better lenses so I could zoom more. I definitely have to go back there one day, explore more and try to capture more birdies near the boats. I am so happy you like it 🙂 Thank you

That first photo is wonderful, I love the colour of this bird… is it a starling? I think the ones we have near here are like these but not green… more blue or black with speckles.

Yeah I think it is starling. We have some in the roof of our house. They have babies every year and make lots of noice. They look a bit different when its not sunny day, so I think the colors in my photos are maybe more bright and colorful because of the sun. I would love to paint some of these birds one day.I love the colors 🙂
