Morning photoshoot at Dublin Sea Point. Day 17 Caroline’s sunrise photo and health challenge

Read little story about my photoshoot of sunrise at Dublin Sea Point, look at many sunrise pictures and discover why is my motivation to chase the sun working and helping me to improve my health. Maybe you will fall in love with the sun too and join Caroline’s sunrise photo and health challenge.

Dublin Sea Point is second best location so far in Ireland that I had the opportunity to watch sunrise and take photos with my camera. My first exciting experience of sunrise in Ireland was at Forty Foot, where I took sunrise photos together with many photographers. To read about it click here

My third best photoshoot of sunrise in Ireland was in Dublin city docklands. You can see firs few pictures here and more in upcoming article soon.

When I arrived at Dublin Sea Point, it was still very early, but something was already happening on the sky. First photo was taken at Dublin Sea Point before sunrise. I did not know where exactly the sun will be rising, but my guess was that the sun will show in the middle of this photo, just little bit right from the hill. I wished so much to see the sun rising from the sea, touching the horizon exactly where the sea was. I have never seen that before.

Photos of the day 17 of Caroline sunrise photo and health challenge were taken from 6:08am until 7:20am at Dublin Sea Point on Friday 26.8.2016

Dublin Sea Point is amazing place for taking sunrise pictures. There are rocks, waves and the place is wide open without any trees. I took few pictures and I was trying to find the perfect spot for a perfect sunrise photo. I had enough time before the sunrise.

suddenly I noticed bright spot on the sky which gave me an idea where the sun will be rising. I cropped one photo for you so you can see the bright spot that I saw.(Look at the photo on the left below.) Do you see what I saw? Just below the bright spot there is a long dark line. Is it a mole, dockside or just long land into the sea? I thought that I am in the wrong place to see the sun rising from the sea and I started to think about walking and getting behind that dockside. Well, you can see from the next photo how far I would have to walk.

Luckily for me there was a man running, smiling at me and greeting me, so I asked him if it is possible to walk and get behind that dockside. He said that it’s possible to get there and that it’s not faraway, so I started to run.Well, maybe I should not call the movement that I was doing “a run” , but yeah, I was moving faster than walking. It was not cleaver thing to do, with my backpack and with my back injury, but I survived it with no pain at all in the next few days. (I guess I can physically handle more than the doctors suggested.) I was looking at the clock on my phone, worried that I will miss the sun peeking and rising from the horizon and that made me move faster and faster.

When I say that I was chasing the sun, do you believe me now? Sun is helping me a lot to improve my health!

When I finally arrived behind the dockside, there was another one!  What a surprise! But I got there just in time. I didn’t miss the sunrise! There was small line of clouds at the horizon so I wouldn’t see the sun rising from sea anyway. You can look at the pictures below and see how the sun started to show and rise from behind the clouds.

It was all happening very quickly. I didn’t have much time to find perfect spot, but I got few nice shots.  My three favorite pictures with boats taken at this spot are below.

After taking few photos I decided to run back to the first location, because I really like the rock and I wanted to take few pictures there before the sun was too high on the sky. While I was running back to my first location, I looked back and I saw the sun peeking at me.

When I arrived back at Sea Point, the sun was little bit higher but I still enjoyed taking photos there. It was amazing experience! The happy endorphins that are released when you do exercise were working well on my mood. I felt that my skin was warm from the sunshine so I sit and expose myself to the sunlight again. Sun bathing, yeah. I have very nice healthy tan now and dose of natural vitamin D. It felt so good!

To take picture like this one below, I had to take my shoes off and I walked barefoot in the sea. It is very healthy and its amazing experience. Try it! Try it and let me know how it felt.

One day when you go for your morning walk, try to take your shoes off and walk bare foot in the sea or on wet grass. It is very relaxing.

  2. Wow! You have amazingly beautiful photos! I know how you felt to catch the sunrise right in time. The feeling of awe is indescribable. And you are right, walking barefoot on the sea is very good for the health. They say we need to walk barefoot from time to time to connect with the earth and stay grounded. I am so excited to see more sunrise photos from other parts of the world.
