Three quotes, landscape photos and thoughts about Opposites

Enjoy one of my first attempts of landscapes photos, some positive and interesting quotes for you, thoughts about the word ” Opposites” and few words about my weekend at the end. This post is inspired by the WordPress weekly photo challenge, which has been truly enjoyable part of my blogging.  All pictures were taken on Sunday evening n Fairview and Clontarf. I din’t have my camera with me so I was using only my phone. The photos may not be perfect or sharp, but as an artist I love the colors. For me, the pictures are enjoyable, interesting and worth sharing. What do you think?

Three quotes for you

1. When you put the subjectivity of the art together with the context of the science, you have this very powerful conjunction of opposites and together they are greater than either one could ever be.( James Balog)
2. It’s this simple law, which every writer knows, of taking two opposites and putting them in a room together. ..( Trey Parker)
3. Light is meaningful only in relation to darkness, and truth presupposes error. It is these mingled opposites which people our life, which make it pungent, intoxicating. We only exist in terms of this conflict, in the zone where black and white clash. (Louis Aragon)

Thoughts about the word “Opposites”

Opposites related to the pictures below: Day and Night, Light and Dark, East and West

When the day, meet the night.

When the city is covered with dark and the sky is still  bright.

When you take pictures from the same point,

flying high nearly touching the sky

first three to the West

the next three to te East.

Opposites on the picture below: the natural light and the man made light – lamp

Opposites related to the pictures below: full and empty, free and captured, natural and created, horizontal and vertical, up and down

By looking at these pictures you probably guess right the place, the hight point and how I got there to take all these photographs. I consider my self lucky to be there exactly at the time of beautiful sunset. I have to mention that I had a terrible weekend with lots of headaches, pain and lots of time spent in the toilet. I could not concentrate on any study or write anything for my blog for last tree days. On Sunday evening I asked my son to go with me for another walk. I was out with the kids already and he really didn’t want to go. I could not bare to stay home anymore so he had to go with me. When he saw a ferris wheel he wanted to go for a ride. I always feel sick on ferris wheel and I really hate it, but this time I have been filling sick for three days so I decided to give it a go and make my son happy. Well it was worth it. I got amazing view and photographs. Me and my son had lots of fun, we took long walk around the sea and at the end of the day my son said: “I don’t know why I was so crying that I dont want to go, it was so much fun.” I answered: “When you listen to your mum, when you do something good for others you may get a good reward as surprise like the one you got today.”

It feels like a got a help from the heavens today. Thank you, God!

Thank you for reading my blog and let me know what you think in comments.

All are nice photos, but I think my favorite two are the full shot of the Ferris wheel and the one with the lamp. I think it would be awesome to be able to take photos from the top of the Ferris wheel. I’ve never been on a Ferris wheel that I know of. I have ridden in the sky buckets at Six Flags and that was exciting, but I was just a kid then and didn’t have a camera. Thanks for sharing your cool photos. 🙂 Have a blessed week.

  4. Definitely your best blog posting to date. Both pictures and words combine to make something greater than the individual parts.
